19 July 2011  |
Munich, July 19, 2011 – Four of the five coveted wild cards for the Red Bull District Ride have already been won. Now, there is only one free pass left for the final event of the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour. One lucky rider will be able to take home the last wild card on July 23rd after the Red Bull Joyride at Kokanee Crankworx in Whistler (CAN) (live stream at www.redbull.ca/joyride) – the tension is mounting! Slowly but surely, it is becoming apparent which riders will have the honour of taking part in the most legendary urban freeride event worldwide. The best of the best will be recruited from last year’s and this year’s FMB World Tour top ten – although a lot can still happen until the end of the season. In the meantime, course designer and freeride legend Aaron Chase (USA) has been puzzling for months over the perfect course for the international rider elite and has a few surprises in store for Nuremberg. All updates and news about the main freeride contest of the year can be found on: www.redbulldistrictride.com The battle for the top of the FMB World Tour world ranking list is getting more exciting with every contest. Red Bull district ride This year, qualified riders can look forward to a course that outdoes anything the world has ever seen. Course designer Aaron Chase knows from personal experience what it takes to create the ultimate freeride course. After all, he won the first Red Bull District Ride in 2005! He seizes Nuremberg’s unique architecture to design a course that will make any spectator’s heart skip a beat: “I’m stoked to be back in Nuremburg for the Red Bull District Ride!  This contest was my biggest win in 2005 and now I get to craft a run full of hits from the Castle all the way down to the Market Square.  The Red Bull District Ride was a very progressive contest at the time now I have the challenge to recreate freeride history!” We don’t want to give away too many details at the moment, but one thing is certain: You’d better get ready for some unparalleled bike-action in Nuremberg!
